Why I Said Yes to Writing for The AllBright (And What That Has to Do With Your Visibility)
When AllBright everywoman, the largest collective of women in business worldwide, launched The AllBright as a new editorial platform, I knew immediately that it was somewhere I wanted to be. Not just as a reader, but as a writer. I’ve been lucky enough to be one of their expert speakers for a couple of years now so contributing in this way made perfect sense.
The AllBright brings together leading writers, thinkers and cultural commentators to explore the ideas, decisions and realities shaping women's lives today. It covers work, life, culture, identity and everything in between, and it does so with the kind of honesty and depth that so much media still gets wrong. You might be wondering whether we need yet another platform for women but in truth I don’t think we have enough particuarly ones that are truly inclusive.
For me, saying yes to this opportunity was never just about adding a writing credit to my portfolio. It sits right at the heart of the personal branding coaching and training work I do every day. So much of what I help women with is understanding that visibility is not simply about being seen. It is about being seen on your own terms, in spaces that reflect your values, your voice and your ambition. That is especially true for Black and marginalised women, who are so often either rendered invisible in professional spaces or thrust into the spotlight in ways that were never designed with them in mind.
Writing for The AllBright is exactly that for me. It is a deliberate, values-led choice about where I show up and why.
My first piece explores hypervisibility, a concept I believe many women navigate regularly but rarely have the language to name. For Black and marginalised women in particular, hypervisibility is not just uncomfortable, it can be professionally costly, emotionally exhausting and deeply isolating. What happens when you are seen too much, too often and in ways that feel entirely out of your control? That is the question I am unpacking and I think it will resonate with you.
