What Does Being One of The Most Influential PR Professionals in the World Mean to me?

This year I’ve been on a few lists, lists that have ranked me as someone pretty significant in the PR and Comms world. The first was via Favikon which ranked me as the 7th on a list of advertising and PR influencers.

Ranked in the Top 20 Advertising & PR Influencers in the UK in 2025, setting new standards for influence, authenticity and impact.

I have to be honest it came as a warm and welcome surprise particularly given that the PR world is not always as welcoming as it could be particularly for Black women and marginalised people. I have been intentional about how I use my presence and my position to highlight the industry as well as using my social media platforms to raise my visibility. The objective has always been multi-layered: to build my confidence by actively showing up even when I felt uncomfortable, to attract clients and opportunities and to act as a role model to others who come from working class, Black communities who are seeking opportunities to get into PR. I like the fact that the Favikon listing actually recognised authenticity and impact as part of the criteria for being listed because it acknowledged something which I speak about often - the fact that you can be yourself (not your full self of course) but you can still be authentic without losing your sense of identity.

Being listed on the Propel 100 list of the most influential PR pros in the WORLD felt like another level of acknowledgement.

Your recognition is a reflection of the incredible impact you’re making in the world of PR, and sharing this can inspire others while showcasing your leadership in the industry. - Propel 100

Now look I know that there are many ways of measuring influence, I understand all too well that this is one of many lists and rankings that exist across the world but it really felt good to be acknowledged for standing out and being bold. I am an outlier in this industry and as I do more work as a personal branding and communications training facilitator and personal branding coach I see how powerful it is to stand firm in your truth as a leader. The people who make a difference and who are the most memorable are the ones who are consistent and stay focused. I have remain pretty consistent over the years and for that to have a global impact is important. But can I be honest? It feeds into an untapped ambition of mine. I would love to do more work on a global level, whether that’s speaking and moderating in the USA or hosting training sessions across Asia. I would love be the go-to person of note that is called upon to share thoughts on PR, Comms and personal branding in various regions across the planet and be paid well for it! How exciting would that be? Perhaps being ranked on these lists will get me closer to my dream. Perhaps simply writing it here and making it known will ensure that it lands in the line of vision of someone who can make it happen. More significantly though these acknowledgements will continue to fuel my drive and keep me focused on my purpose.

From Hackney, East London to the world - I want to ensure my clients use their presence, communication and visibility to make an impact and transform the way they navigate within their chosen fields. I want to continue to empower others to see the best in themselves so that they can allow the world to see the best in them too.
