Celebrating Entrepreneurial Talent at the Inaugural Founderfest

On March 9th 2018 I had the pleasure of being invited to give a keynote speech at the inaugural Founderfest, a start-up festival by and for ambitious young founders hosted by Foundervine. The festival stood out from other start-up events, festivals and conferences that currently exist because it focused on grassroots entrepreneurial talent. The atmosphere was fantastic with networking and community building at the core of the event.

The Foundervine team brought together a community of amazing entrepreneurs, business professionals and expert advisors to help start-ups achieve their business goals in 2018. The event was hosted at KPMG in Canary Wharf with over 100 delegates throughout the course of the full day event.

I was invited on the stage not only as a motivational speaker but as a dynamic entrepreneur with an exciting story to tell. Having grown up in Hackney with limited resources from a marginalised community I know the harsh realities of what is required to achieve success in the UK. It has not been easy navigating spaces that have often wanted to minimise my value and underestimate my impact and I shared this with the audience. As a Black woman in business I have had incredible highs and life-altering lows. How did my experience as a British Nigerian female entrepreneur influence my journey? Who did I turn to for support? Does the UK have a culture to foster excellence and provide safety to those willing to take a chance on themselves? I answered those questions and more at the Foundervine conference.

I had a phenomenal time sharing my business journey and my own experiences as a PR entrepreneur as a keynote speaker.
