Celebrating AFRONOIRE: A Journal of Stories and Aesthetics

I had the pleasure of attending the launch of AFRONOIRE’s 1st coffee table publication in June 2016.

AFRONOIRE The Collective Space AFRONOIRE Panel of Speakers

The editorial cover story explores scarification as it relates to identity and beauty, from the perspective of Beninese, French-born and raised, Laurence Sessou and is revealed in 4 chapters: confidence, queendom; sensibility and rising. Here is a beautiful short film which perfectly depicts the essence of AFRONOIRE.

I had a fabulous time surrounded by beautiful black women who are proudly celebrating their excellence and greatness in a world which so often tries to silence us.
